Outpatient Rotation Program

The Outpatient Rotation program is based in AHF’s Los Angeles Healthcare Centers. It’s a 2-4 week program that focuses on HIV primary care. Participants will recieve mentored professional development experiences by an assigned Medical Provider. Participants interested in being considered for acceptance to this program must meet the following requirements:

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time resident in Internal Medicine or fellow in Infectious Diseases
    ACGME-certified program.
  • A letter of recommendation from their Program Chair.
  • A bio statement with a summary of why they would like to participate in the program.
  • A memorandum of understanding with the residency or fellowship program formally designating AHF as a clinical elective rotation.

AHF volunteers directly influence their communities by supporting our HIV testing and prevention efforts, working in our healthcare centers and advocating for lifesaving changes to corporate and governmental policies.

Depending on your interest and availability, you can answer phones in our office, drop off condoms at your local bar or assist with testing outreach at an Out of the Closet Thrift Store. As a volunteer, you’ll have the chance to attend special events and work closely with leading HIV/AIDS advocates.
