AHF Federation

AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is committed to providing high-quality care to all those who need our services. To better reach underserved populations across the nation and enhance our community partnerships, we've created specialized affinity groups. These volunteer-staffed subgroups within AHF create messaging and events to promote and provide prevention and testing services, advocacy, medical treatment, and support.

Choose to be: Empowered

The Black Leadership AIDS Crisis Coalition powered by AHF, in partnership with the Latino Outstanding Understanding Division (L.O.U.D), invite our beloved community members to a fireside chat series entitled “I’m Choosing.” This conversational series will explore the various opinions and experiences of individuals who fall within a wide spectrum of COVID vaccination sentiments.

Our goal is to create safe spaces not only for opportunities of engagement for people to feel empowered, but also to provide access to vital information, in order to make an informed decision regarding COVID vaccinations for their individual lives.

Impulse - Celebrating 10 Years

Who Is Impulse?
In the summer of 2008, HIV rates were climbing among gay men. Jose Ramos and a group of friends sat in his kitchen in Los Angeles, CA, and wondered, “Why?” Jose approached Michael Weinstein, President of AIDS Healthcare Foundation, who described his concept for Impulse to Jose. Michael challenged Jose to start a social revolution, and with that, Impulse was born!

What Is Impulse?
Impulse United is a volunteer group of active individuals in collaboration with AIDS Healthcare Foundation, whose purpose is to promote sexual & lifestyle wellness using modern social approaches. This federation of chapters shall accomplish this vision by breaking social barriers in communities with such needs.

The prevalence of these issues among LGBTQ individuals is different in each city. We understand that, but we also acknowledge we are living in a global era where together, we can find a solution. This group of volunteers creates campaigns, events, and online content to reach a new generation of LGBTQ individuals who live in a modern and rapidly evolving world.

Impulse is now the largest HIV/Wellness group in the world, comprised entirely of volunteers, and, in the last 12 months, organized over 500 events and over 20 campaigns. Impulse is made up of over 300 volunteers in 25 cities.

BLACC - Black Leadership AIDS Crisis Coalition

VISIT WEBSITE

The Black Leadership AIDS Crisis Coalition (BLACC) is an affinity group of AIDS Healthcare Foundation. The group was developed to create a coalition of Black-American cultural influencers and health advocates, that through the use of innovative, culturally relevant messaging and initiatives, are revolutionizing outreach to the Black American community and elevating the education and awareness of sexual health and wellness, and bringing greater awareness to the social justice issues disproportionately impacting the health and wellness of Black Americans.

BLACC members and supporters speak directly to our community to encourage sexual responsibility and keep HIV/STD prevention and treatment and those advocacy issues that impact the rise of the epidemic at the forefront of the national Black-American agenda.

Black-American families—and young people in particular—are the highest risk demographic for new HIV cases and AIDS-related deaths in the United States. BLACC is committed to increasing awareness, access to testing and care, and advocacy on behalf of Black-American communities across our nation.

AHF’s LOUD strives to fight HIV by employing marketing initiatives that are not only culturally competent but effective at encouraging behavioral change throughout Latino communities in the U.S.

These efforts especially seek to connect identified at-risk Latino sub-populations (e.g., youth, gay, women, and transgender individuals) to proven prevention methods and medical care using creative marketing efforts that authentically understand and speak to the diversity within the U.S. Latino population. Through targeted education and collaborative messaging efforts with corporate entities, entertainment personalities, religious leaders, and community stakeholders that share a similar vision, LOUD believes a healthier Latino community is within reach.
