Looking For HIV Testing in Ukraine – Odessa? Find HIV Center

Since 2009, AHF has supported HIV testing, prevention, and treatment services in Ukraine. The very first AHF-supported HIV care clinical site opened its doors for clients in Odesa city in partnership with the local government clinic – the regional AIDS center.  

Since 2010 – AHF, in partnership with local HIV care clinics, has supported ART decentralization in Ukraine. The partnership aimed to improve HIV medical care for people living with HIV by bringing HIV testing, prevention, and clinical services closer to clients in remote areas.

Since 2017 AHF has been developing its own network of clinical and testing sites in Ukraine, working with  38 partner healthcare facilities in 22 provinces and in Kyiv.   

AHF’s Odesa Test & Treat Clinic was the first to open and provides treatment to people living with HIV, along with HIV prevention and testing services. 

In 2018, in response to a request from the local LGBTQ+ community in Lviv,  AHF Ukraine opened AHF Checkpoint, which provides friendly and human-centered services for key populations.  

As part of its service expansion and to meet the increased demand for HIV and STI prevention, AHF Ukraine opened its first Wellness Center in Odesa in 2022, followed by another in Kyiv in 2023. 

To support people living with HIV, especially those newly diagnosed, AHF Ukraine established the StART Club in 2017. This club offers weekly meetings with invited professionals, both online and in-person, for peer-to-peer support and barrier-free discussions about living with HIV. 

In partnership with 38 clinics, AHF Ukraine provides integrated rapid testing for HIV, hepatitis B/C, and syphilis, STI diagnosis and treatment, and linkage to care for HIV-positive people. Free condoms are accessible at all AHF partner sites to support efforts of HIV and STI prevention.  

AHF Ukraine consistently supplies medical goods and medications for the treatment and prevention of opportunistic infections (OI), ensuring free access to needed medications for the most vulnerable clients living with HIV. To improve the diagnosis of TB and OIs for clients at partner sites, AHF provides funding for costly diagnostic procedures.
