AHF began operating in Jamaica in 2013 and established its Medical Center in 2018, which is now one of Jamaica’s premiere HIV and STI treatment and care facilities in Kingston. The AHF Medical Center offers a wide range of services, including general ambulatory care, free HIV and STI testing and treatment, counselling, education sessions, and free condoms.

The commitment to providing quality services and advancing medical technology has significantly contributed to building a positive reputation among NGOs and maintaining the mission statement of “cutting-edge medicine and advocacy regardless of ability to pay.”

AHF Jamaica has further expanded its reach by working with several partner agencies and has established a second clinic and wellness center in St. Ann, Jamaica.

In 2023, AHF Jamaica celebrated ten years of service and, with partners, has contributed to the national achievement of 95.1% of clients being linked to care. The wellness center has grown at a rate of 9.1% as new clients are welcomed and provided with treatment, care, support, and social interventions.

Youth initiatives have seen much success, with over 120 young people participating in the summer employment program in 2022. AHF provided a number of scholarships for continuing education and book grants. In addition, nutritional and other support was given to teen mothers and at-risk youth through the Girls Act program.
