Looking For HIV Testing in Indonesia? Find HIV Center
AHF Indonesia has been officially registered with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has maintained an ongoing collaboration since July 1, 2016, implementing an HIV testing and treatment program with six local NGO partners and in fifteen health centers. The services provided include patient laboratory tests, access to ART support, hospital staff capacity building, and organized advocacy meetings with the government on increased community testing and early treatment strategy.
AHF Indonesia implements programs in seven provinces throughout Indonesia (DKI Jakarta, Central Java, East Java, Bali, North Sumatra, East Kalimantan, and South Sulawesi) to promote the health and well-being among people living with HIV, including preventing opportunistic infections.
In recent years, the primary driver of the HIV epidemic has shifted from the injection of drugs to sexual transmission. Most of the key populations are in urban and peri-urban areas. Key affected groups continue to report high-risk behavior and insufficient awareness about HIV. Young people and other key populations can have more chances to learn about safe sex and the prevention of HIV/STIs.
In 2020, AHF Indonesia began collaborating with the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, extending its partnership through 2026. The primary focus of the collaboration revolves around the Social Rehabilitation Program in HIV prevention, HIV early detection, treatment, therapy, and support for people living with HIV.
Girls Act empowers girls and young women to stay healthy and thrive! We work to prevent HIV and STI infections, help young women and girls remain on treatment if HIV-positive, reduce unplanned pregnancies, and
support them to stay in school.
