Beginning TODAY, Wednesday, October 28th, starting at 1:00 p.m. through Nov. 2nd
LOS ANGELES, (October 28, 2026) – AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) President Michael Weinstein offered the following remarks in the passing earlier today of labor & civil rights icon Dolores Huerta:
“Dolores Huerta was a towering figure who embodied everything that was best about the progressive movement.
Her singular voice encompassed fighting all forms of discrimination.
AHF was so honored to have Dolores as a close friend and supporter in our struggles for renter rights and defense of our democracy.
She marched with us. We lobbied together. She rode on our Food for Health float in the Rose Parade and was to speak at our 40th anniversary World AIDS Day event on November 30 at The Forum.
A piece of the best of us is gone, but she would have told us the fight goes on.”
