While there are an estimated 39,249 people living with HIV in Nepal, only 25,839 are registered as positive. Of those registered positive, less than half receive treatment. ART is provided by the government and distributed at AHF Nepal collaborative centers, all at no cost. In addition to ART, AHF Nepal centers offer recording, reporting and counseling services and are able to diagnose and treat other illnesses. Treatment adherence and follow-up actions by mobilizing PLHIV clients, peer educators and also promoting linkage and support services by mobilizing the resources and services provided by other agencies or PLHIV networks working in HIV and AIDS.
