The Olympic, built in 1925 and used as movie and TV show filming location,
now offers 172 affordable housing units in Westlake
LOS ANGELES (October 20, 2023) – Continuing its ongoing commitment to creating affordable housing via adaptive reuse for low-income people in need, Healthy Housing Foundation (HHF), a division of AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), will host a ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony for The Olympic, a 172-unit Single Room Occupancy (SRO) building (all with full private baths) located in the Westlake District in Los Angeles. AHF purchased the building in late 2022 at a cost of about $104,000 per unit and, through adaptive reuse, refurbished the 1925 property to help address the city’s affordable housing and homelessness crises. The Olympic appeared in the 2005 Keanu Reeves movie Constantine, an episode of the 2015 crime drama Bosch, and a 1966 episode of Mission: Impossible.
