The pandemic has demonstrated that multilateralism and solidarity are key to addressing global health threats, because no one is safe until everyone is safe. However, we have seen throughout the past few months that not all international mechanisms are equally effective, and international platforms or spaces to address health as a global community are scarce.

During this virtual session, the speakers and audience will discuss and analyze the outcomes of this month’s 74th World Health Assembly (WHA) and other proposals for a new pandemic treaty. The aim of the event will be to outline a way forward for global public health collaboration.

This informal side-event to the WHA session will feature various panelists, including policymakers, members of parliament, civil society representatives, and academics.
