WASHINGTON February 24, 2021 AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) welcomed news that the U.S. will have 3 million vaccine doses per day available by April. (See February 23, 2021 Politico article).

Executives from vaccine makers AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, Novavax and Pfizer testified yesterday at the U.S. House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations where each presented the scaled-up production numbers for the vaccines that have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

“The news that we’re finally scaling up vaccine production to levels that can bring this epidemic under control is very encouraging,” said John Hassell, national director of advocacy for AHF. “I’m confident in the rigorous approval process each of these vaccines have undergone at the FDA ensuring the vaccines are safe and effective. Ryan White HIV Clinics, like the 68 healthcare centers AHF operates in 16 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, stand ready to offer our sites to administer COVID-19 vaccines. We’re in a race against COVID variants. We’re eager to help reach the vulnerable populations that trust Ryan While clinics to provide competent and compassionate care.”
