AHF and the larger HIV/AIDS community mourns the passing of longtime HIV survivor and New York City-based activist Edward Shaw.

Ed is remembered as a mentor to many and an HIV warrior. He devoted much of his life to organizing grassroots efforts that helped create policies to better serve people living with HIV. In 2012, he participated in AHF’s “Keep the Promise” March on Washington and helped mobilize hundreds of advocates across the region. Ed is also featured in our “Why We March” video alongside other US-based advocates.

We celebrate his life and thank him for paving the way for others to always stand strong—may his memory forever live on through us. Rest in peace, Ed.
