AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) will continue its call for the Executive Director of UNAIDS Michel Sidibe to step down with immediate effect following his handling of sexual harassment allegations at UNAIDS.

AHF will address on-going issues at UNAIDS and make a call to action for Programme Coordinating Board which oversees UNAIDS the day before the Board meeting in Geneva.

The Geneva press conference is the latest in a series of similar actions that have been conducted in major cities over recent weeks. The UNAIDS scandal has received significant coverage from mainstream media including CNN, The Guardian, The Independent, Al Jazeera, Daily Mail and others. Other UNAIDS donor countries such as the UK and the Netherlands have also been requested to intervene amidst the inaction of the current UN administration.

AHF has previously held a press conference on this issue in India and UK and a series of public advocacy events in South Africa, India, US, Mexico. On the morning of PCB meeting, June 26th AHF will also hold a protest in front of the WHO Headquarters.
