In February, South Side Help Center and AHF announced their affiliation, a partnership intended to strengthen and augment delivery of lifesaving HIV/AIDS care and services on Chicago’s South Side.
CHICAGO (August 6, 2015) Effective August 6th, South Side Help Center, is expanding its HIV/AIDS services to include another service delivery site by joining its affiliate organization, AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) in co-locating at their new AHF Chicago Healthcare Center location, (2600 S. Michigan, Suite LL-D, Chicago, IL 60616). The AHF Center, officially open for business since January, will now offer clients premier comprehensive HIV/AIDS services and programming, including primary care, case management, testing, and support groups. The hours of operation are Mondays and Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., or by calling (312) 881-3050 for appointments and more information.
“By co-locating South Side Help Center’s critical patient and community services on-site at AHF’s new Healthcare Center on Michigan Avenue we will be able to offer more services to greater numbers of people in need, particularly, communities of color, who are disproportionately impacted by rising rates of infection and historically have had less access to potentially lifesaving resources,” said Vanessa Smith, Executive Director of the South Side Help Center. “South Side Help Center and AHF are jointly committed to addressing the needs of such underserved and marginalized communities, and this new co-location offers the convenience of a one-stop location to provide services for most, if not all of a client’s needs.”
