Hanoi City and a New “Community-based HIV testing” Program

AHF Vietnam and Vietnam’s Institute for Social Development Studies (ISDS) have begun a “Community-based HIV testing” program in Hanoi City.

 

On September 23rd, both organizations were able to celebrate the opening ceremony of this program, which those who are at a high risk for contracting HIV in the Hanoi community. ISDS is a non-governmental organization that provides sexual health services, social advocacy, and education and training to the community. In this partnership, AHF Vietnam will provide technical support and funding for HIV testing and counseling to many at risk persons, reinforcing a productive partnership between the local organizations and AIDS Healthcare Foundation.

 

AHF Vietnam has been committed to reaching areas of the country with a need for HIV testing and treatment, but have little access to health centers and clinics. Since 2007, AHF has partnered with the health administration of Vietnam to bring testing, education, training, treatment, financial aid, and support to sexual health clinics and programs across Vietnam. This Community-based HIV testing is another example of the success brought about through these partnerships.
