AHF Poland was established in 2023, choosing Lublin as its primary location of operation. Lublin, a city of over 300,000 inhabitants and nine universities, is located very close to the border with Ukraine. Because of the close ties with Ukraine and a large Ukrainian community (up to 30,000 Ukrainian war refugees still live in Lublin, as is estimated by the local government), but also thanks to strong internationalization efforts by local universities and businesses, Lublin has become a truly multicultural city. Unfortunately, contrary to Western parts of Poland, access to HIV and STI testing and prevention is still limited here.
AHF Poland is dedicated to HIV testing and prevention and condom distribution. The team works closely with local governments, NGOs, universities, and local communities to expand their reach. To better serve the LGBTQI+ and migrant populations, AHF Poland partners with organizations offering services to these key populations.
AHF Poland provides rapid testing for HIV and STIs such as HBV, HCV, and syphilis, as well as counseling and linkage to care.
