In 2007, AHF established the LaMvelase Clinic in Manzini, Eswatini’s second-largest city, to address the growing need for antiretroviral therapy (ART). Designed to support HIV-positive clients in and around the city, the clinic was a critical response to capacity challenges posed by the increasing demand for HIV care and treatment.

The establishment of the clinic was made possible through AHF’s collaboration with the Manzini Municipal Council, the Ministry of Health, Population Services International, Family Life Association Eswatini, and AMICAALL Eswatini.

Known for their high-quality care and short wait times, AHF clinics have become a trusted resource in the community. Beyond providing prevention and treatment services, AHF Eswatini extends its impact through outreach programs that promote condom use and offer HIV and tuberculosis testing, ensuring vital health services reach even the most underserved populations.

AHF operates clinics in Manzini, Piggs Peak, Mbabane, Nhlangano, and Matsapha, delivering comprehensive HIV care and a wide range of health services. These include TB testing and treatment, STI screening and treatment, cervical cancer screening, and sexual and reproductive health services, such as family planning, antenatal and postnatal care.

Since 2009, AHF Eswatini has offered confidential, rapid HIV testing across the country. In 2016, following the government’s adoption of the World Health Organization’s “test and treat” policy, AHF began implementing a universal test and treat program. This approach ensures clients who test HIV-positive are immediately initiated on antiretroviral therapy, significantly improving long-term health outcomes.
