Looking For HIV Testing in Russia? Find HIV Center

AHF Russia has supported projects to increase access to HIV testing, adequate medical care, and help HIV positive people since 2013. AHF Russia partners with various non-governmental organizations that strive to raise the quality of life for women affected by HIV, work with most-at-risk populations (MARPs), among other program specific causes. AHF Russia’s main focus in Russia is to provide financial support for testing, education about HIV transmission, treatment and care for people living with HIV. In late 2013, AHF Russia registered with the Russian Federation to ensure fluid implementation of existing programs.

Data from the Federal AIDS Center of the Russian Federation estimates 1.4 million people are living with HIV in the Russian Federation (data for December 2019). About 535,000 people are receiving antiretroviral therapy. The number of the HIV tests increased dramatically during last few years and in 2019 it made more than 40,000,000 tests. In compare to the previous years the age group among new HIV cases has changed and now HIV prevails among people over 30 y.o. (84% of all new cases in 2019). HIV transmission remains highest among heterosexual relations (prevails) and injecting drug users (IDUs).
