AHF Proudly Supports East Bay AIDS Walk

In News by AHF

For the second year in a row, AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) was a major sponsor of the East Bay AIDS Walk in Oakland, California offering matching grants to all local participating AIDS service organizations.

This year, more than 500 people participated in the Walk, which took place on Saturday, June 16th.  AHF presented a check to local groups totaling $50,000.  In addition, AHF hosted an information booth to raise awareness about services available to the community through its AHF Magic Johnson Healthcare Center in Oakland, which provides HIV/AIDS medical care regardless of ability to pay. One of AHF’s mobile testing units was also on hand to offer free HIV testing during the Walk.

The East Bay AIDS Walk was originally organized in 2005 with the intent to provide funding to local HIV/AIDS Service Organizations, Community-Based organizations and Faith Based Organizations, who provide HIV education, testing, and treatment in the East Bay Area.

The East Bay AIDS Walk is a HIV education awareness and fundraising event for the East Bay AIDS Advocacy Foundation, a 501 c non-profit organization also comprised of an all volunteer Board of Directors.
