COVID-19 Vax: Get it Right the First Time

In Global Featured by Julie Pascault

AHF recently issued a statement calling on the global public health community and governments to exercise caution and due diligence in fast-tracking vaccine candidates for prevention of COVID-19 with The Lancet medical journal also urging COVID-19 vaccine trials to seek worthwhile efficacy in a recent article.

The Lancet cites three main issues in planning COVID-19 vaccine trials, including: whether to demand worthwhile efficacy (versus just “some” efficacy); whether initial trials against placebo should prioritize both single- and multi-vaccine trials; and how to assess safety, protection against severe disease, and duration of protection after initial results are obtained.

We encourage you to read more about COVID-19 vaccine trials from The Lancet here.
