Many courageous women are on the frontlines of the COVID-19 response – we humbly salute and thank them for their service. Below is our tribute to all women around the world.

International Women’s Day (IWD) is an annual campaign celebrated on March 8 that commemorates the past and current accomplishments and contributions that women have made to society—and it’s also the perfect time to bring attention to issues that AHF country teams around the world are working to improve.

Highlights of events across Africa, Asia and Latin America included activities for girls from local schools in Kenya and Eswatini; cervical cancer screenings and HIV tests for women in Uganda; an uplifting march in Zambia and Lesotho; educational sessions for young girls in Cambodia, as well as Nepal, where participants also received invaluable self-defense training, and a documentary screening in Mexico.

We invite you to view photos below from the impactful events that took place in early March!
