After a special invitation from the Malawi government, AHF Malawi shared its work in the country with the Parliamentary Committee for HIV/AIDS and Nutrition, resulting in an agreement to begin distributing AHF-branded Love and Icon Gold condoms throughout the country.

AHF also highlighted the need for the government to consider increasing its domestic funding towards health, commended parliament for reviving the parliamentary TB caucus and underscored the need for continued work towards addressing the needs of girls and young women.

“I would like to commend AHF Malawi for the great work that you are doing,” said Honorable Rachel Zulu, Member of Parliament for Mchinji North Constituency, Malawi. “You have only been in the country for two years, but it’s clear AHF has brought significant change to many lives.”

The committee chairperson also pledged future support and encouraged ongoing cooperation, as well as a request for AHF to extend its reach throughout the country towards increased HIV prevention among youth and access to HIV prevention and treatment services for people with disabilities.

AHF has been working in Malawi since 2017 and has over 21,000 patients in care.
