After 17 successful years at Sunset Blvd. location, the popular and award-winning AIDS thrift store is relocating Sat., Nov. 16 to former OSH Hardware site at Hollywood Blvd. and Edgemont
New 38,000 square foot building will also house an AHF Pharmacy, also relocating from Sunset Blvd. site (but one week later), and serve as new headquarters of AHF’s Public Health Division
LOS ANGELES (November 15, 2019) After 17 successful years operating on Sunset Boulevard in the heart of Hollywood directly across from the world-famous Palladium, AIDS Healthcare Foundation’s (AHF) Hollywood Out of the Closet thrift store—one of 20 stores across seven states in the popular and award-winning thrift store chain—is relocating a few blocks east and a few blocks north to 4905 Hollywood Boulevard (corner of Edgemont) in the former OSH hardware store effective Saturday, November 16th. The original Out of the Closet Hollywood site (6210 Sunset), which first opened in November 2002, will remain open over the move weekend (both Sat Nov. 16 and Sun Nov. 17).

NOTE: The original Hollywood Out of the Closet store (6210 Sunset) will be OPEN both Saturday, Nov. 16 and Sunday, Nov. 17 during the transition to the new Out of the Closet and AHF Pharmacy location
The new, 38,000 square foot building will also house an AHF Pharmacy which is also relocating from the Sunset Blvd. site after nearly a decade of service there. However, the new AHF Pharmacy on Hollywood Boulevard will not open for service there for another week.
AHF’s Hollywood Boulevard site will also serve as the new headquarters for AHF’s Public Health Division, which operates the largest community-based HIV and STD testing program in the nation—conducting nearly 200,000 free HIV tests nationwide in 2018.
The new Out of the Closet Hollywood Boulevard site, like the Sunset location before it, will offer free HIV testing seven days a week from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm.
Out of the Closet raises money to help AHF fulfill its mission to provide “Cutting-edge medicine and advocacy regardless of ability to pay.”
