International Day of the Girl Child (IDGC) was observed on October 11, but that didn’t stop AHF Rwanda and Zimbabwe from organizing impactful events with its partners throughout the month and into November!
AHF Rwanda turned IDGC into an entire month of events across multiple days and three different schools where more than 700 girls participated—and in Zimbabwe, AHF organized an inspirational march and education sessions for hundreds of people. Girls in attendance from both countries were encouraged to be leaders in their communities by pursuing higher levels of education, getting tested for HIV and other STIs, and taking control of all aspects of their health and wellbeing.
