Two years ago this month, AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) launched its Girls Act! initiative in an attempt to reach young women and girls, a group that accounts for 61% of the 4 million youth ages 15-24 currently living with HIV. The campaign has empowered thousands of girls worldwide—who often face poverty, gender-based violence, and infringements on their sexual and reproductive rights—to stay in school, make better choices and take control of their physical and emotional health.
In honor of the International Day of the Girl Child, AHF invites you to view a short documentary film called Girls Act! It shows how five young women are winning their battle against HIV and leading healthy, productive lives thanks to the knowledge and self-confidence gained through their hard work and the Girls Act! Initiative.
