VIDEO: AHF mobilizers on the scene at Columbia, SC MLK Day celebration

COLUMBIA, SC (January 17) — AHF took part in dozens of celebrations held in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday to honor the slain civil rights leader and minister, who would have been 88 years old this year. His legacy was the starting point for AHF’s ongoing “AIDS Is A Civil Rights Issue” message, a public awareness campaign launched in 2014 to draw attention to the alarmingly high–and persistent–rates of HIV and AIDS in communities of color.

In Columbia, AHF’s lead mobilizers Veronica Brisco and Elizabeth McLendon worked to bring out a parade of activists to the SC State House to show their support for addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic locally and nationwide.
