AIDS Healthcare Foundation celebrated the grand opening of its first AHF Healthcare Center on Long Island with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new Bellport, NY location on Friday, December 5th.  The AHF Bellport Healthcare Center is housed within the Bellport Primary Care Center, operated by the Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center, located at 515 Bellport Avenue, Bellport, NY 11713.  The clinic will provide client-centered, specialized medical treatment and care for people living with HIV/AIDS and will be open on the first and third Friday of each month, from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
AHF’s Bellport Healthcare Center will operate under infectious disease specialist Alan J. Stein, MD, an esteemed physician and veteran AHF doctor with over 42 years of medical experience. “AHF is extremely proud to bring its services to Long Island’s South shore,” said Dr. Stein.  “Through this relationship with Brookhaven Hospital we hope to enhance the limited HIV care services available in Long Island.”
“From Brooklyn to Bellport, by continuing to expand AHF’s services in the New York region we are demonstrating our commitment to being a neighborhood resource for people to get tested and treated for HIV,” said AHF’s NYC Regional Director Michael Camacho.  “Through our partnership with the Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center and the Bellport Primary Care Center, AHF’s new facility will make it easier for our Long Island patients living with HIV to access the specialized medical care they need.”
AHF’s Healthcare Centers provide state-of-the-art out-patient medical services to maximize the health and well-being of persons living at all stages of HIV disease regardless of a patient’s ability to pay. Each Healthcare Center provides medical programs tailored to the specific needs of asymptomatic and symptomatic HIV/AIDS individuals from qualified medical and support professionals.
