    <description>AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) has filed a federal lawsuit against David Maxwell-Jolly, Director of the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) seeking an injunction to prevent implementation of a new state law singling out nonprofit safety net providers—including AHF—forcing drastic Medi-Cal (Medicaid) reimbursements cuts for drugs purchased by AHF clinics and other safety net providers while favoring giant national for-profit pharmacy chains including Rite Aid, CVS, Walgreens and others. The lawsuit was filed yesterday, Monday November 9th, in United States District Court, Central District of California, Western Division (Case number CV-09-08199-R-PLAx).</description>

    <title>Spotlight: AHF In Ukraine</title>

    <description>&lt;P&gt;AHF has worked in Ukraine since 2004, when it began a preceptorship training project funded by the Global Fund. In collaboration with Samara and Saratov Health Care Administrations and American International Health Alliance, AHF formed the Volga River Alliance Project. In November 2008, AHF established an outpatient clinic in Odessa, a seaport city with one of the highest HIV prevalence rates in Ukraine. The clinic currently cares for more than 500 clients.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
