Florida Health Dept. Investigating Porn Industry Safety Complaints

Nat’l HIV Testing Day: Nat’l AHF/Magic Johnson HIV Testing Tour to Wrap Up in NYC This Week

In the days leading up to National HIV Testing Day, Sunday, June 27th, the AHF’s Magic Johnson ‘Testing America’ Tour will wrap up its six month, 48 state national HIV testing tour with four free HIV testing events—in partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene—in four boroughs of New York City—Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx and Queens.

Feds to Investigate Porn Industry Testing Clinic for Privacy Breaches

In response to a formal written complaint alleging sweeping violations of federal patient confidentiality laws filed by AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has decided to open an investigation of the Adult Industry Medical (AIM) HealthCare Foundation, a Los Angeles area HIV testing clinic funded by and serving the adult film industry.

AMA Backs AIDS Advocates on Condoms in Porn

At its annual meeting this week, the American Medical Association (AMA) voted to support a public health effort by AIDS advocates including the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) that would require actors to use condoms during the production of adult films.

Scores of AIDS Activists Protest BMS CEO Andreotti at Goldman Sachs Health Care Conference

Up to one hundred AIDS activists arrived at a protest Tuesday, June 15th at 10:00 AM, hosted by AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), targeting New York-based Bristol Myers Squibb Co. (BMS) over the pricing and policies for its key HIV/AIDS drug, Reyataz, one of the most expensive first-line AIDS treatment in the US. The protest took place outside the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Century City just prior to an 11:30 AM presentation by Lamberto Andreotti to investors—his first as BMS’ CEO—at the Goldman Sachs Global Healthcare Conference 2010.

North Jersey AIDS Alliance from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM at Boylan Street Recreation Area on South Orange Ave. and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 PM at Springfield Avenue and 20th Street.
