AIDS Care Model: ‘Test & Treat’— Getting to 10 Million on ARVS

As both cost containment of care and services and treatment-as-prevention gain greater prominence in the global fight against HIV/AIDS during the Vienna AIDS Conference, AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), which currently provides AIDS medical care to more than 139,000 individuals in 23 countries worldwide, will host a satellite session today, July 21st, titled “Test and Treat: Getting to 10 Million on Treatment” (IAC Mini Room #5 at 6:30pm) preceded by a press conference (5pm, Media Center, Room PCR #2).

AHF: U.S. Must Honor Its Commitment on Global AIDS

Ft: Lauderdale: AIDS Advocates Protest at Federal Bldg to Save AIDS Drug Program

75 protestors gathered outside the Ft. Lauderdale Federal Building in Florida. The coalition of AIDS patients, health care providers and advocates are asking the Obama administration and the Florida Congressional delegation to save the state's ailing AIDS Drug Assistance Program. More than 600 people are on the waiting list to receive lifesaving AIDS drugs in Florida and that list is growing by 250 to 300 people per month. Florida is ranked 3rd in the nation for the most new cases.

AHF Tests 519 People at NAACP Conference

AIDS Healthcare Foundation's Magic Johnson Mobile Testing Van, which recently concluding a six month, 48 state national cross country HIV testing tour, made a stop at the 101st National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Conference in Kansas City, Missouri this week for a four-day testing event where over 500 people were tested.
