Thai Nguyen, MD

Thai C. Nguyen, MD is a board-certified family practitioner at the Westside Healthcare Center.  He is part of the expert team at AHF specializing in the treatment and care of people living with HIV/AIDS.

Dr. Nguyen received bachelor degrees in biochemistry and sociology from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD).  He received his medical degree from the UCSD School of Medicine and completed his residency in family practice from UCLA.  He went on to complete a fellowship in HIV medicine under the tutelage of Dr. Charles Farthing, an internationally renowned HIV expert. During his fellowship, Dr. Nguyen was also trained in the administration of Sculptra for the treatment of facial lipoatrophy.  Additionally, under the mentorship of Dr. Ross Cranston, he became a specialist in high resolution anoscopy for the detection and treatment of anal dysplasia.  After completing his HIV fellowship, Dr. Nguyen remained at AHF to continue caring for people living with HIV/AIDS.

Dr. Nguyen has traveled to Vietnam to precept physicians caring for people living with HIV/AIDS.  His interest in HIV medicine further expands into clinical trials research on existing and novel anti-retroviral medications at the Westside Healthcare Center.
