Parveen Kaur, MD

Parveen Kaur, MD is an internist at the El Monte Healthcare Center.  She is board certified and a diplomate of the American Board of Infectious Diseases and the American Board of Internal Medicine.  Dr. Kaur is certified with the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates.

Dr. Kaur practiced in the fields of internal medicine, immunology, medical microbiology and pediatrics.  In addition to providing medical services in General Hospital at Chandigarh, India, she was a fellow in infectious diseases at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Westwood VA Medical Center, the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Olive View Medical Center, and the Sepulveda VA Medical Center.  She has been a consultant physician for Beverly Hospital, UCLA Olive View Medical Center, and the Foothill Infectious Disease Group in Covina, California.

Dr. Kaur’s research is focused in medical microbiology.  She became a senior research fellow in pediatrics at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh, India.  Her research specializes in salmonella, candidaemia, and post morbidities in rural Indian women.

Dr. Kaur received her medical degree in medical microbiology from the VSS Medical College at the University of Sambalpur, India.  She completed residencies in medical microbiology, internal medicine and pediatrics and an internship in internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology and community medicine at PGIMER.  She also completed training in internal medicine at the University of South Alabama and at the Los Angeles County + University of Southern California (LAC-USC) Medical Center.  Dr. Kaur is fluent in English, French, Spanish, Hindi, Punjabi, and Oriya.
