The Epidemic

Cambodia has been making great strides against the AIDS epidemic. In 2005, the government began requiring the use of condoms in brothels, where sex workers and their clients are at greater risk for HIV. AIDS-related deaths have fallen steadily since. Cambodia is also one of eight middle- and low-income countries to meet the World Health Organization’s 2009 treatment goals on the way to universal access to ART.

AHF in Cambodia

AHF Cambodia was established in 2005 in close partnership with the National Centre for HIV/AIDS, Dermatology and STD Control and the Preah Ket Mealea Hospital of the Royal Government of Cambodia. We provide medical services to thousands of clients, the majority of them receiving ART.

Each year in November, during the Water Festival, AHF distributes free condoms and conducts free rapid HIV testing across Cambodia, kicking off our worldwide Test & Treat campaign.
