Scott Galvin
Scott Galvin is a native of North Miami who was first elected to the city council in 1999, and was re-elected in 2003, 2007 and 2011. He was a two-term president of the Greater North Miami Chamber of Commerce and the North Miami Jaycees. He founded the Greater North Miami Historical Society and has been active in many other local groups. Professionally, Galvin serves as the Vice President of Education for Junior Achievement of Greater Miami. He recruits and trains corporate volunteers to bring lessons of finance and community to children across Miami-Dade County. Before he became city councilor, he received a degree in education and served as an aide to U.S. Representative Carrie Meek from 1993 to 1999.
